Ok, I'm not a total noob. I've used Ptools in the past. But I need a new, portable setup.
I want to compose and record, using a Korg Nano setup, guitar/guitar pod, mic, all on a modern laptop (firewire, dual core, 3gigs ram).
I want to do a lot of midi and sound manipulation.
I was first thinking about getting an Mbox 2, which will allow me to use Protools, but now I am thinking of learning Cubase or another solution instead.
So now I'm looking at getting a Tascam USB interface http://www.zzounds.com/a--2676837/item--TASUS122L
Or a Firebox firewire interface http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-PRS-FIREBOX-PAK-LIST
And before I shell out some bucks, I want to get any advice I can.
After reading up more, I am starting to lean towards the firebox, cubase, and absynth.
Someone pls tell me its a good idea so I can order my gear
