Hey everyone,
Well I have owned both of these items for the past two years and they are both in like new condition, with very minimal use. I bought the Triton Rack from Sam Ash.com for $1599 and the Fatar from my local guitar center for $899. Both have never left my small smoke-free home studio.
This is a very versatile machine - I've used it when writing jazz/rock/progressive/classical music, as well as for scoring movies. I scored a short student film about 8 months ago (the last time I used the unit) and I think this machine really excels at such work. I particularly enjoy the ethereal synth pads, the orchestral samples as well as the standard and funky perc sounds. Both the Korg and Fatar were hooked up to a Pro Tools Digi 001 on a G4 and the results where always great!
This item is really like new, it contains everything I received when I first got it (never-opened the manuals [haha!], ac adapter, and the main unit) and as I said, I have never taken it anywhere. I must mention that when I received the unit there was a small scratch on the front left corner of the LCD display, however this never affected the machine's performance and so I never bothered for an exchange over something so insignificant. The Fatar as well has sat in the same corner and never left the room since I purchased it. I know I will regret this one day, but since I am in college, I could really use the money!
I must also say that both of these items really have had minimal use, the Korg has never been rack mounted and I really have never bothered trying out any of its sampling or customizing features - I just used it when I needed a good stock sound. The Fatar plays wonderfully , but since I have an upright piano I've never used it for more than punching in chords into Pro Tools
Please email me if you have ANY questions at Scram9@aol.com. I'm looking for around $750 for the Korg, but I am very open to alternate offers! If you are interested as well in the Fatar SL-1100 88-key weighted action MIDI controller I am offering the two items for $999. If you are just interested in the Fatar I am looking for around $399.
I live in NJ so if you live in the Tri-State area you shouldn't have to worry about any shipping charges - we could set up some kind of delivery/pickup!
I have taken a few pictures of the Triton, and if you're interested I'll take some pictures of the Fatar as well!
