Hello to all, I usually lurk/hangout in the "Cave" but today I am looking for some help on my VF80EX. I turned it on yesterday and the display flashes on a menu then shows "Service05" in the top left of the screen & "Selfcheck" in the middle. I waited about 10mins to see if it would do anything. The HD LED did not flicker so I assume it is locked up. I've had it less than a year.

Has anyone seen this, and if so, what can I do to fix it?

I posted in the Fostex forum & rcvd 1 reply saying to unplug the foot switch,(I don't have 1). & nothing is plugged into the ft sw jack.

From the lack of responces I figure ya'll don't give a flying f%!k. Anyway, I went home last nite and damn if I did'nt find a cord plugged into the FT switch jack. :o All is well with the Universe again.. :D

I'm glad everything worked out for you, I'm curious to hear some of your music if possible.

I just happened to see your post today, and yes, if there's the wrong type of footswitch plugged in you'll get that message on start-up.

But get the right footswitch for punch-in/outs. It works like a charm!
