I've owned this dynamic mic for quite a while. It's a bit on the ugly side or maybe just very plain looking. It's resale value is next to nothing so it's not worth throwing into my buy, try, resale scheme of testing out mics. This mic was given to me because the original owner thought the name brand was indicative of the sound quality. He never gave the mic a serious listen in any situation. He never used it and just wanted to unload it on someone. It was in nearly perfect condition when he gave it to me. The only reason I accepted it is because of my golden rule: Never turn down a free microphone or stomp box. There's always a chance that it just might work in some situation and microphones and stomp boxes are so small that storing them isn't an issue.
Back to the mic. Why am I rambling on about this mic? Because it sounds great on vocals, guitar amps, drums, bass, and acoustic guitar. It beats out all the ldc's I've tried for vocals. Good proximity effect but not too boomy or muddy, nice thick mid range but no too much, and high's aren't too sizzly or too neutral. On guitar amps and snare, it beats out a 57, 58, or 545 almost every time. It's pretty good on bass and kick too. It has the bottom and top that the shures are missing and doesn't get honky. On acoustic guitar it's never too bright or boomy and thickens the mids just a bit. It has an overall tonal character that's not overbearing when used on multiple tracks and nearly anything tracked with it sits well in a mix. It works pretty well as a room mic too. It really is a cool mic at any price. I'll never let it go. I'll probably use it in every piece of music that I record for the rest of my life.
Enough babble. You want to know what it is. Here's the kicker!
I'm not telling you sucka!
