I just tried my horn (Bach 42B/LTG Big Bore Trombone) on the sE TITAN Microphone and the sound is quite remarkable, incredible, in fact.

No artifacts, just straight-on clear-as-a-bell right in your face trombone sound.
With -10dB pad I can get in close for pure t-bone pick-up.
With pad off and back about 12-18 inches it picks up a little bit of "room" ambience but the horn sound becomes much more present.

After spending my first half hour with it, my first impression of it was "Studio Mic on Steroids". I tried it on my (Baritone)voice, (solid state)bass guitar amp and (solid state) guitar amp using acoustic guitar (Carvin Cobalt 750) and the results have provided the same crystal clear results.

I mic'd the acoustic guitar straight-on without the pad and the sound was definitely overly bright for my taste. I have yet to try that combination with the pad on.

The titanium diaphragm certainly provides a much better transient response than my other mics and I am looking forward to trying this on percussion soon.

This is definitely a "WOW!" for me.

PS-The TITAN product summary shares: For universal use as an Announcer's Mic for broadcasting/voice-over, Ideal for close micing instruments with high SPL's, spot micing for wind instruments especially trumpet and sax, strings, piano, kick-drum and guitar amplifier.
