Will you hard core mic guys at least tell me if you've never heard of em, please.

I'm using the Roland Studio Pack, no fancy pre's yet.
 
They get the same Shanghai or Beijing mics everyone else does. Probably not any special ordering, but a stock design. Couldn't tell you how their QC is. If you like it, good, but if you're buying a different one, try to make sure it sounds the same before ponying up the cash.

So whats the deal with the no name mics? Are they the same components as the brand names with less quality control?

I haven't really had the opportunity to train my ear for recording mics so I dont really know what exactly to listen for. When I listen to them at the shop they all sound pretty good.

Am I better off sticking with a brand name until I really know what to listen for in a mic? I'm just looking for a good vocal acoustic guitar mic. Probably go with an AT3000 series.
