Alison Krauss lookin' like she could be Courtney Love's talented sister.

Watson singing "Don't Let Your Deal Go Down" sounds exactly like Dan Hicks.

Damn straight, hixmix.

I have never gotten into that style of music, probably because a lack of exposure to it, and I'm certain that Country/Western music is the work of the devil, but that show tonight blew what little mind I have left!

Alison Krauss has long been my favorite female vocalist. Lester and Earl
are amazing musicians also. Alison does A few songs on the Cold Mountain soundtrack. Gives me chills....some of my favorite songs are those that are not mainstream, or get radio time.

I hope Dan Hicks feels suitably complimented by that remark!

Why is everyone talking about this show today? Did PBS air a repeat? It was a great show, but that was three years ago.

Ricky can rip anyones face off with a mando.....they are monstors.....and could probably teach some of these "shredders" a thing or three.

Exactly. Was Watson copying Hicks, or is Hicks copying Watson?

2003. PBS aired it again last night. First time I've seen it(I think :D ).

For some fast high octane "ripping" by Ricky Skaggs check out his "Bluegrass Rules" CD with his band Kentucky Thunder...That one WILL humble the shredders!

Probably neither, but I wouldn't really consider it a serious question. Nothing wrong with Dan Hicks as a musician, but he's hardly in the same league with Doc Watson. Doc is a national treasure, and one of the most important musicians of our time.

dang, I missed that........was Ricky playing his Loar......or could ya tell?
