all my guitars makes a morse code sound in my recordings when close to my pc running through a line 6 pod ,so i pesume it wants screening, now how is this done ?
and because i have more than one guitar it would proberly be more cost effective to screen the computer.
does anybody know how i would go about this or is it possible ?

thanks

Get yourself a Lead room for recording-bet that will solve it!;)

walters is that you ?

no

and what is a lead room ?
if it is what i think it is a seperate room to play the guitars in. a bit of a no go ,no extra room and since i work by myself i have to be pretty colse to the daw.

any ideas on how to sheild the pc ?

OK, I get it. :o

Are you using a CRT monitor? They are infamous for radiating RF energy in all directions. Keep away from the CRT.

no a tft

it is definatley coming from the computer if i put the guitar at the side of the case its really loud .

been doing a bit of surfing on the screening guitars is it just as simple as putting copper tape in the caverties of the guitar body ?

or would a board with the copper tape on infront or the pc do the same thing ?

actually it is not coming from the computer but is coming from the guitar and it is likeley the guitar is not shielded very well
using copper tape in the pup and pot cavitys is called shielding and yes it will help huming noises from the guitar but will not help any computer noise on the recording if the computer is the problem.

However...
a lot of the time you can eleminate computer noise from a slow grunty CPU by simply giving it more memory, 1 gig sticks of memory will do wonders to quieten down a computer that only has just more than enough required to operate the system.
it is highly probable that most of your problem is due to bad shielding from the guitar and the power source so try not to overload the power supply this will also cause a lot of line interfearance noise.
Plug the recording device in a seperate power source from the computer, doing this and shielding the guitar should eleminate a lot of the issues you are having with line interfearance noise.
