SB Platinum and Yamaha DSP24 cards

Hi Guys.

Is it possible to run SoundBlaster Live Platinum 5.1 w/Live Drive and Yamaha DSP24 cards on the same P.C
together?
I've installed the DSP 24 card and it shares the same IRO (9) as the Soundblaster,no conflicts show up anywhere,but the DSP 24 seems to take over and acess to the KX Mixer is gone and it requests that I re-install the KX Drivers.
I did that but still the same problem,the DSP 24 overides the Soundblaster.I tried it with the original
Sound Blaster drivers with the same result,so its not the KX Drivers that are the Problem.

I re-installed the KX Drivers and uninstalled the DSP 24 and the SoundBlaster w/KX drivers where working perfectly on re-boot(PHEW...)

I'd really like to run these cards together,any one know how???????

You can but you might have to change the IRQ of one of the cards. Which operating system are you using? If it's windows 2000 or XP you'll have to do some tweaking before you can change the IRQ.

For the rest of the Windows operating systems (98, 98SE, ME) you should be able to simply change the IRQ in device manager and off you go. Deciding which one to change and what to change it to is a different story. My first guess would be to change the IRQ on the Yamaha card. If you need to remove ACPI (see the link above), do this first and reboot. Then look at the IRQ assignments and see if there's an empt one. If there isn't, it's down to trial and error, although I would stay aay from sharing IRQ's with hard drive controllers, and obviously the other sound card. As with all of these kinds of tweaks, backup before you do anything. Also backup the registry. The registry can be rolled back if you mess something up.
