SB live mp3+

Hi guyz..
i am in need for help!
i have just bought the sb live mp3+
i also have Sony portable MD mz-r55
i have connected the MD (TOSlink input) to the SB (Yellow Toslink connector). and when i tried to play a song (mp3/cd/wave) and recored it on the MD, the MD tells me that it does not recive any signal.
i have unplugged the cable from the MD and i have seen that there are no blinks on the optical cable...
whats the deal??? how can i record songs on my MD??
Help please..

here is my config:
SB live mp3+
Matrox G400 dual head.
asus buard p3-f.
pIII 550
128M ram.
Win98.

The SBLive's digital output is not an optical out - its a coaxial \-type digitial output, so the minidisc won't record peanuts.

What you will need is a converter box. There's one on the market called the CO2 or the CO3 at http://www.midiman.com or if you're feeling a bit poor, you could make your own uising the schematics found at http://www.us-epanorama.net/audiocircuits.html

Creative's website said that they offer a
daughtercard for Optical digital output.
Is that the optical connector you're talking about? Make sure that the S/PDIF output isn't
muted in your vol control applet.

Now that I think about it, Hoontech make a heap of add-on cards for SB Live soundcards, so they are worth having a look at.

I have understoof my problem..
the s/pdif is a digital exit and it can not produce Optical signal.
u have orederd the card from hoontech.
