SB Audigy Platinum EX....your opinions

Its only redeeming qualty is the improved handling of Sound Fonts over the SB Live series. The amount of RAM it can use for SoundFont storage has been greatly increased.

If you are looking for real 24bit audio recording, look elsewhere - this thing does not do true 24bit recording. You can buy real 24bit cards with multiple inputs for much less.
 
Just read a "Sound-on-Sound" article/review yesterday in the bookstore....

They also found that while you can set your system to record from the Audigy at 24-bits, only 16-bits of info change and the rest show no activity (you get a bigger 24-bit file with only 16-bits recorded.)

It's only a 16-bit/48kHz card just like the 'ol SBLive.
