I like my recordings.
Hello,
I hope everybody is already rested from the new year partys, and using your new toys from santa, back in the work and recording.
well, lets get into the thread.
SAWpro, looks "different", like a nintendo screen.
but it offer me to choose, when recording, from where I want the signal comes, including L & R. so, if you have a little soundcard with just a stereo ins you can record 2 separete tracks in two separete chanels.
I am using the Aark 20/20. I can have 8 mono inputs in 8 separete chanels.
also, when I hit the record, the clock start running, since the begining.
it shows a meter for every chanel you select to rec at.
Cool Edit Pro,
looks a little green, and a little more "pro".
it does not have the option to choose L & R.
so if you record in the multitrack enviroment, when you want to set the devices, you just can select from stereo pairs. like aark 1-2, aar 3-4, aark 5-6, etc.
I mean, if you have a delta 44 (4 ins)you just can record in two channel, two stereo tracks, AND THEN, cut and paste to new, L or R part of the track of each stereo wave, to make them four mono tracks.
mmmmm,
why you can´t record L chanel 1 and right channel 2??
SO, YOU CAN´T RECORD LEFT AND RIGHT IN TWO SEPARETE CHANNELS at once!!
the clock star running "good" without interruptions like 2.5 seconds before i hit the rec.
also, I think, that like it is showing the waveform when recording, it makes work the computer more then Sawpro that just show a meter.
when I make the window of CEP smaller, it runs better.
so, if you can minimize the window when recording, it will be better, but you cant check the input signal.
I hope, that somebody knows WHERE or HOW to see THE OPTION of the devices select, in CEP, like in SAWpro:
1) aark 1 L
2) aark 2 R
3) aark 3 L
4) aark 4 R ....etc.
