I know that the Audigy LS and Santa Cruz cards are not professional recording cards. But of the two, which is better for "beginner" recording AND gaming? I am only asking this because I picked up the 'Audigy LS' the other day, and then found a Santa Cruz on clearance for the same price ($50).
So, one of these is going back to the store. Just thought I'd throw it out there to see what you all think...

Thanks,

The Audigy does have better hardware accleration for game sounds and a very flexible soundfont midi synth.
The Santa Cruz is somewhat less of a resource hog and can be configured as a 4in/4out which could be handy for music. It's midi synth is DLS which is less popular than Creatives Soundfonts. The Santa Cruz does have a synth daughterboard connector so you can add a Yamaha DB51XG synthesiser on it.
