I just wanted to give a heads-up to those who are looking for am amp simulator that won't break your budget, and is also a good DI box.
For Christmas, my wife bought me a Sansamp TRI-A.C., on the recommendation of a dealer who we trust. I was surprised since I already have a Pod and figured that it might make a good live pedal. However, after playing around with the thing for a while, I was impressed. The Fender simulation is really good and gives the full range of blusey sounds.
There is also a Mesa and Marshall emulation that sound very close to the Pod and to a Marshall and Mesa.
The box is rugged and has enough power to be a good DI box. The only downside is that there is no reverb on the unit, but I record all guitar tracks dry and add the verb during mixdown, so that is not a big problem.
I think that you can pick them up for around $150 at the more competitive place.
