I just got the tech21 sansamp classic. is anyone else using this? are you using it for DI or as a distortion stomp box?

i am really digging this thing. 90% of the time I'll be using it for clean recording. i mostly do r&b, reggae, go-go, and hip-hop and this thing makes my DI recording of a fender strat sing very nicely.

i've had the sansamp bass DI for a year or so, and i've always liked it, but the volume (without pumping up the drive knob) wasn't that great... good, but not great. the classic doesn't have that problem.

best of all, it's not noisey.

i feel good because i spent my money well.:D

Oooh. I love my SansAmps. Never had a Classic. Started with a GT2, then went straight to the PSA-1 (which can get a littly noisey). I use the PSA-1 live and the GT2 for direct recording along with my Mesa/Boogies.

Congrats on the Classic! Enjoy.

I've got a GT-2 that I used before I got my Cyber-Twin. I never used the distortion on the GT-2, I just used it for adding EQ and that Tweed tube sound. It worked great putting it last in the chain, right into a solid state amp to add tube harmonics & feel.

The classic is very good, although 'ole bear paws here has trouble with those damn DIP switches...

The GT2 is also very good... I use that more...........
