Hi all,

I've been learning to play acoustic guitar for over a year now and have recently started recording a few songs so I can monitor my progress.

I have an Acer laptop running Windows 7 64 bit, and a Samson G Track microphone using the Sonar LE software that came with it. All fine so far, a simple but effective setup that is just what I was after.

I recently bought a Zoom A2 Acoustic Effects Pedal which I like but have a problem using with the Samson.

I plug my electro acoustic into the Zoom and then the output from the Zoom into the instrument input on the Samson. I assumed I'd be able to record vocal and guitar effects together, however this doesn't seem to be the case. Although I can hear the guitar effects when I plug headphones into the Samson, it doesn't record them, it just records the normal guitar sound.

The Samson manual advices you to set up 2 mono tracks in the Sonar LE software, the vocal recording from the left USB audio codec and the instrument from the right USB audio codec, however again I don't get the effects of the Zoom I just get the standard acoustic guitar.

If I change the setting on the Samson to "Line" I can record the guitar with effects, but there is no microphone vocals.

Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong. Of course it may be what I'm trying to do isn't possible but I can't really see why. I did email Samson with this query as their company makes both the microphone and the Zoom, but they have not replied (good customer service there !).

Any guidance would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks,

Simon
