I'm new to these things, bare with me.

A few days ago I was looking at buying a cheap mixer, about 105.00 dollar it costs, and then I was going to get a condenser microphone for it.

The microphone that I WAS looking at, is the Apex435 - Wide Diaphragm Cardioid Condenser

The mixer I was looking at is the Alesis MultiMix 6 USB.

Now, I shared this stuff with a few people on another forum... I was asking if it would be worth it, how they'd assume it would sound and more so questions about the mixer itself.

One person brought it to my attention that I would probably be better off buying a USB microphone, because I am only recording vocals, and only one voice.

So I took a look at the online shop for the local store I go to for music since I was just a little kid, and I took a look at the most expensive USB microphone that I could find, the Samson G-Track USB Condenser w/ Audio Interface

I was wondering if any of you guys had an opinion on what would be my best bet to go with? I want to find out ASAP as I am trying to get everything in order here so I can start recording again, and having some quality sound in comparison to what I had before.

If any of you know anything about these, PLEASE let me know.

Thank you!

(unfortunately I can not post links to the microphones / mixer because I have not made more than five posts yet... PM me if you can not find them online or do not know of them please)

Stay away from usb mics.

They are mainly for podcasting and will not work well with other equipment.

Get a regular usb interface and standard mics.
(a shure sm-57 or 58 is a good starter)
