Alrighty, I just picked up an older copy of Samplitude Studio 6.0 to use with my E-MU 1212M. The card sounds good when used for general audio use (MP3s, CDs, etc...), but I'm not able to get Samplitude to recognize the input signal from my mics. The chain is mic -> DMP-3 preamp -> TRS input of the 1212M. The E-MU instructions only speak to the packaged Cubasis software, and the Samplitude manual is kinda vague on how to setup the program's track inputs.

I'm getting signal to the PatchMix DSP software and sound through my monitors (so I know everything is plugged in), but no signal is registering in Samplitude...

Any help will be greatly appreciated...I have high hopes for this setup, once it is correctly functioning.

hmm...open a VIP(or press E on keyboard and set up a new one) and left click on the yellow track # button (1 or 2 or whatever).A track info box will pop up.Make sure your soundcard is listed as the playback and record device.Close that and press Y on your keyboard. The system/global audio options box will pop up.On playback devices make sure your soundcard channels are checked(such as in my case...1,2 Direct Pro Q10-3,4-5,6...etc.)then click on record devices and do the same.I'd uncheck anything that isn't your card(modem #1 line playback,NVIDA(R) nForce(TM) Audio...ect.) If your running on Win XP you may need or want to download the 6.04 update from the Magix website. It's a bit of a PITA to get to, but sign in and keep following the links...you'll get there eventually
You might want to download the latest burn routines while your in there and store them to a folder in case you run into any CD burning problems.

Good luck and hope that helps some.

Many thanks... I'm going to install a couple of updates (sent via Samp's tech help) and see how that goes. As it stands now, the only playback/record device available in Samp is the card's E-Wave driver...no ASIO support so far...we'll see if that changes with the updates.

Nope...I installed the updates and am still unable to use the E-MU 1212M's ASIO drivers. Does anyone know if Samplitude 6.X is even capable of using ASIO drivers?

Thanks,

david

Yup. Posted up there too... I'm beginning to think that Samplitude 6.0 doesn't support ASIO at all, even with updated patches....

Surely they have (Samplitude) some sort of support? ;)

I think in your Samplitude product version news and product files you can clearly find whether Asio supported or not.

Nope...Sam 6 doesn't support ASIO (v7 and 8 do though).Just MME and WDM I think.

Which is what I just was told by Ed over at Samp. Bummer....my 1212M doesn't have WDM support (or, at least WDM support that's any good..). I'll need version 7 or 8 to use this soundcard (and I do want to use it, as I really like it so far).

Anyone want to buy a brand new version of Samplitude 6.0? :)

You can upgrade to for $200.00 to version 8. Not a bad deal at all for a killer program.

You have to set up E-mu Wave driver connections in patchmix somehow - you can only assign a single stereo in and out. This is a limitation of E-mus drivers.

Thanks all. I've decided to go for Version 8.0, being as I want to utilize the 1212M as fully as possible, with drivers, etc...

Which drivers are you trying to use in samplitude??? Does samplitude recognize any soundcard or drivers??

Never mind my post, I didn't read the whole thread.

Glad to see someone using Samplitude, great program. I have the dummed down version Magix Audio Studio 7 but for $14.00 it's awsome.
