First time here. Have new computer running samplitude, couple problems.
1. Big delay - maybe 3 or 4 seconds when adjusting mix while playing back project.very irritating, not real time. Latency delay?

2. Long term problem I ain't smart enuf to figure out. I'd like to start a new project with default settings, ie 4 or tracks, each assigned separately to left and right. Got to go thru and click each track. Pain in the butt. If I save the default I set up, next project oeverwites HDP and it's gone. Gotta be a shortcut.

3. All of a sudden, files are not converting to MP3. Creates file, zero content. Some times work if I delete and convert three or four times.

4. Crackles in projects, what now????

I have a Yamaha O1V, and Aardvark 20/20, hot computer but things used to work better! AAARgh! Thanks to all who respond, we're at Barnstorm on MP3.

Peace

The latency can probably be fixed with your buffer settings, type y for the shortcut and use your help function to figure out what to do. Otherwise, check out the newgroup, news.sekd.com/alt.sekd All the Samp pros in the world are on there and will answer any question you might have.

Go into the system settings and reduce the VIP buffer settings, that should take care of some of the mixing latency problems.

When starting a new VIP project Samplitude brings up a setup screen. In advanced setup, there's a box to check that initializes wave devices for mono recording. Check that box. It'll bring up your tracks (the 2, 4, or whatever) in a mono setup with the channels already setup panned 1 left. 2 right. 3left. 4right. and so on.

You can also set up recording templates that you can access from the same setup box. Just create the track layout that you want with the parameters that you want and click save as template - name the setup and you can choose the template when starting a new project.

See if that works.

As far as crackles, there could be several reasons for that. Tell us a little more about your system, the OS, and all of that stuff.

If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail.

Good luck
