Okay - question. Since, as I understand the situation,I am unable to use the Battery drum software as a Pluggin on my Protools 001 Le system, what my next option? Sampletank? I want something I can drive with my korg M1 keyboard. I want to be able to play the drum sounds and record them into my protools sessions. I guess it wouldn't be a bad thing if the program included other instrument sounds but, not really necessary. I am aware that if you buy the freaking bundle that NI offers apparently that version of battery is an RTAS pluggin. If thats really the case, that sucks cause I'm not paying that kind of money for one application that I really want. I do however think battery is an awesome program.
Anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Happy Turkey day to all!

Sampletank

Sorry,

Forgot to mention - its a PC setup ! Apparently I made the wrong choice a couple years ago. Thought this was the better route to go since I knew a little about using a PC. Thanks again everyone.

I like Sampletank and its drum sounds are useable enough. You'll be able to play it from your keyboard and the kits are in stereo. It works.

I always find myself having to use the kick from one kit, the snare from another, and sometimes the overheads from yet another, but whatever works.

Its also nice having a wide pallette of sounds to work with all in the computer...

But I like Reason WAY better. I haven't yet done a side-by-side comparison of Reason's drums against Sampletank, but the sampled sounds are much easier to use without tweaking.

Take care,
Chris

Reason

Thanks for your reply Chris. I may look into reason,I'll take your word for it. You know what I really wish is if there were a way for me to use the Battery program. My fellow songwriter friend uses it on his Mac with the Cubase system. I love the way that Battery thing works. But its no use to me if I can't play along with a track that I've recorded in my pro tools session. There has got to be a way that I just don't know about to make that program work with my setup.
But, once I look into Reason I may find that I like it even better. I'm totally unfamiliar with reason. Does it basically do the same thing as Battery? How 'bout price wise?
Anyway thanks for your help and info. I appreciate it very much.
