This isn't really a MIDI question, but involves some sample files and their inability to load on my mac. I used to use FLStudio on a PC and I've gathered quite a bit of samples over the years of upgrading and I'm trying to import them into my current sample library on Battery 3. IMHO, a lot of the libraries that come with these mega samplers these days just don't compare to the stuff I've accumulated over 3 versions of FLStudio. However, a lot of the samples won't load in Battery 3. Some of them won't even load at all (either quicktime or anything) on my mac. I tried dragging one in to logic onto an audio track and it gave me an error, saying it's not a valid PCM Wave file (oh yeah, they're all wave files, boooo) and something about unable to load it because it's in a 4 bit format (something like that). Anyways, do I have any chance of converting all of the broken ones on my mac (or even on my PC) or am I stuck with my only option being to export each one as a separate new wave file out of FL Studio? I'm already stuck with doing that for a lot of the samples that are in other formats (like .ds and .syn, even though they seem to be using the sampler plugin and get treated as audio files) so I guess it's not the end of the world, but being able to convert these wav files into a proper format would be nice. Thanks in advance!
Also, anyone know good sites to get free samples? I'm talking just straight up audio files; no banks, loops, or libraries please!
