Say Something Smart!
Does anyone have a Sabian 20" AXX Stage Ride?
I'm going to look at one at Daddy's Junky Music next weekend, and the online clips sound just what I'm looking for!
I don't want something dark. I like bright with good stick definition and not too much wash.
Sounds like the AAX is the ticket!

Does anyone have any experience?

Thanks,
Justin

I have a 21" version.
It is very clean and defined. You need to play it softly as it can be very loud.Great for someone who plays alot of fast cymbal stuff. If you are interested I will sell you mine as I don't use it much since I went to the evolutions.I have a pair of the crashes also 16", 17".

No thanks edyer.
I'm picking up the 20" version. 21" rides are too much for me.

I'm sure you will enjoy it. Just remember it's loud in a mix if you are recording with it. wood tips played with love are best. nylon is way to bright in my opinion. On stage though they are the ticket when that dang guitar player has to keep crankin it up.

Haha, thanks man.
I play with ProMark 5A wooden tip sticks.
So the 5A's are on the lighter side which won't put too much meat into the cymbal. And I'm not too hard of a hitter anyway.

I have a b8 pro, and i love it, its more airy than most rides, but works good with what i do. Theres a sample of it on a post I made on this category (called "any input on this recording i did?") if you absolutely wanna get the axx one, then never mind.

AAX are great cymbals all around in my opinion. I prefer them to AA and HH Sabians.

Thanks for your input FunkDaddy!

Much appreiciated. :D

What type of music do you play?
