I'm putting together a whole new DAW with the latest P4, Lynx II, and a nice "golden channel" mic and pre (to be determined), and have been excited to get S3. In my research, I came upon Samplitude. I downloaded their demo version as well as Sonars 2.2 version, recorded the identical track with no effect manipulations. I heard an openness and midrange presence in Samplitude which was lacking in S2. The difference wasn't even subltle. I need at least halfway decent MIDI capabilities which I understand Samplitude will have in version 7.2 coming out in a month or so.
The question: Does anyone here have experience with both Samp and the 'new' S3 engine? Can someone with S3 do the same test I did with the Samp demo and report back their findings? I'd like to get rolling and if S3 is up to par than I'm on my way. Thanks, Pete
