Hi, yesterday i purchased a J-Station, woohoo!! and I discovered that I require a soundcard with S/PDIF in. Could someone recommend a cheap, but reliable, and good soundcard, with S/PDIF in. I'm looking for a budget of under £100, if possible!

many thanks

Emagic Audiowerk 2 works pretty well for me. Guitar Center (in the U.S.) sells them for $99. It records through S/PDIF at 16 bit or 18 bit.

You don't require an soundcard with an S/PDIF input, it has stereo analog output too, doesn't it?

However, if you did have a S/PDIF port, you could transfer the signal straight from the J-Station's digital domain without it going back to analog only to be converted to digital again by your soundcard's ADC... Definitely an advantage if you can do it, but certainy not a requirement...

That said, the Audiophile from M-Audio gets lots of good press here, it goes for about $160 street.

I'm using a J-Station with an Echo Mia soundcard via S/PDIF and N-Track Studio. Works great.
