Royer mods on other MXL mics?

Has anybody asked this before? Can the Mojave Audio tube mod be done on MXL mics other than the 2001? I am certain that the 990 would be too small to hold it, but what about the others?
 
Well, Brent Casey said "V57 is a V63 is a 1006" and that they had the same capsule as the 2001, so looks like any of these will work. I'm thinking of picking up a V57 at MF for $60 for this very purpose. They will also work for the "Scott Dorsey" mod, but I already have a mic for that - a Cascade M20.

I doubt it'd work on a mic with a different capsule, though. The capsule's resonant frequency would be different and that would probably throw a monkey wrench into the works...

You are reading my mind on this one, but another consideration might be body size. the 2001 has a longer but more tapered body.

Yeah, if the innards are not the same, the boards may not fit. I don't really mind, I was going to roll my own anyway.
