Hey gang,

I am sure I read somewhere that Sonar 5 can route a MIDI track to multiple synths. However, now I can't remember how this is done.

Is there are way, or am I just mixed up?

What are you trying to accomplish? Why not just clone the midi track?

Yes, I could do that, after the track is recorded. However, I am trying to get a certain bass sound by using two soft synths at the same time. I want to be able to play my MIDI keyboard and hear both synths playing to audition the sound.

How old are you? :D

The midi question...so you're wanting to add like sends from the midi track to multiple synth plug ins?

That's a good one...I'd like to know as well. I've always just duplicated/cloned the midi track it's self...things get a little busy visually but it works.

I guess this is a bump then isn't it?

One way to do this is to have two diferent MIDI tracks with the same input selected (e.g Ch1 or Omni etc...) but the outputs set to different outputs -- in this case seperate DXI synths. You have to make sure that "MIDI echo" is enabled on the active (selected) MIDI track while you play.

Yes...this seems to work for me. You still can't have one MIDI track "driving" two soft synths, but you can record the clip on one track, the copy the clip as a linked clipped to the other track. That way any edits are applied to both clips.
