I just got to purchase a Ross Mixer from someone on EBAY and I would like to get an idea of the company that makes 'em. Does anyone know? I don't have the mixer in front of me yet, so I don't even know what the company is called. Thanks

MAn...that's a mixer making company alright. But it's like concrete mixing....not really what wI was looking for, but thnx. Anyone else?

Ross is the company or at least the brand name...I do not know if they are owned by anyone else. I believe Musicians Friend carries their line of goods (or bads) so you might want to see if your mixer is on there to check out the features and list price for new. My impression is that they make mostly less expensive entry level equipment.

The link was a joke....the comments were serious.....

The many times I had to send my 4 track off, I sent it to:

International Music Corporation
P.O. Box 2344
Fort Worth , TX 76113
817-336-5114

As far as a website, I doubt these guys have technology as up-to-date as that......

I beleive they are affiliated with rane, but thats all I know.

There used to be Ross brand mixers made here in New Zealand back in the '70s and 80s.They made all sorts of P.A. equipment as well that was cheap, reliable, and lasted forever but sounded shocking. If its from New Zealand I'd give it a miss.

Ross was an IMC brand untill about 3-4 years ago.Akaii bought IMC from Tommy Moore, renamed it AMIC (now Akaii Musical Instrument Corp) and eliminated the Ross line, not wanting low-line competition for their Akaii products.
I was an IMC guitar tech at the time (Charvel Jackson) and while it is true much of their product was strictly entry level, the R and D lab was here in Ft Worth and I bought some prototype gear that was quite nice.
My little brother had one of the 4 tracks Gidge mentions and they were pretty lame.

Just got a Ross mixer

I just got a ross mixer from a garage sale. 8 channels and works great. I'm about to get an amplifier for it and need to know how many ohms it outputs, (I think) so that i know how many watts the amp will output. It is a Ross mixing console 8x2. Thanks.

The theater I work at has a 12x2 sitting in storage and I'm considering asking if I can take it off their hands, wondering if it's really worth taking it off their hands though. It's literally covered in dust.
