The lower end seemed bigger on this one without being at all muddy. What'd you do - compress the hell out of the file?

I like this one. I like the effect of the spaces and gaps after the initial rhythm's established - it works wonderfully well.

That pizzicato business that comes in about 1.42 - you made it sound backgroundish with reverb, right? But did you try that predelay suggestion of Ed's? Just curious.

Cool ending, too. A tad different from others of yours I've heard.

Yeah, this is good. Really nice feeling and rhythmically an evolution of what you've been doing. Celebrate intelligent strength. :)

Doc, very cool indeed. I feel embarrassed that I have been in the group for a year, and never heard your stuff. You should have fuckin told me you write quasi-classical stuff:rolleyes:

Obviously, you have heard of a gentleman named Frank Zappa. I cant think of the album, but your music reminds me greatly of his stuff. I think the tune I am thinking of is on Studio Tan, called Concerto for low budget Orchestra, or close.
I listened to 4 tunes of yours. Just a guess, but I bet you met Zappa. True?
When I was in college, Zappa was going to conduct my college orchestra. I was so stoked, I was on cloud nine. At the rehearsal, it was announced " Mr. Zappa has cancelled". I think I have been depressed ever since.

Great stuff Doc. I really enjoyed it, Dave

Coming from someone with your chops: Thanks for that review.

No- I never met Mr. Zappa, but I think he altered my DNA.

More powerful than a fucking cruise missile.

And when it hits, you cry out like some reggae denizen.

Hope you got to the cat brains.

It's at my website:

dobro: the different soundscape was the result of tracking the same MIDI file through two related synths, aligning the resultant stereo .wav files manually, mildly panning each and mixing down to a stereo pair with light EQ and compression on each channel.

Cat Brains? Hee Hee, my kitty Simon ran out of the room when I played that one:) How did you get that vocal sound, overdubbing, effects? Very cool, loved the vocals.

BTW, what kind of Synths do you use? Finally, on Waldo's Nowhere Radio, you need to check the Download option on Songs 2 and 3, they wont download .

Very interesting stuff
