I have a concrete basement and need a live room but.

1) It needs to be very sound proof (Keeping sound IN)

2) I need to be able to break it down and store it after recording.

3) It needs to sound good?!? (If possible) My main concern is getting good sounding drums I have other options for other instrumnets.

4) It can only take up a space about 10foot x 10foot by 7feet high.

I was thinking about creating a bunch of 703 panels and hanging them on the ceiling and then creating 2 walls of panels and using the concrete walls for the other 2 walls.

My questions are:

Do you think this will work alright?
How well do you think keep sound in?
What should I do (if anything) about the 2 concrete walls?
What shape should I make it?

Van,

I hate to be the one to break this to you, but those goals are mutually exclusive and not realistic at all. At least you didn't also say the total cost has to be under $100. :D

"Sound proof" and "able to break it down" is very difficult. But "Needs to sound good" and "10x10x7" is impossible.

Sorry!

Alright I kind of expected that......So my next question is (just looking for personal opinions) what is the smallest room you would record drums in?

I have 14' x 16' and it's kinda rough. I have about $800 worth of rigid fiberglas in there too. All vertical corners are cut off with 703. Ceiling is completely covered. 2 of the wall are %70 covered. All 3" thick.

Was it cheap, Nope

Is it ideal for recording drums, Nope

Is it useable, Yep

I don't have to worry about sound getting out either, which with what you propose to do will not accomplish.
