Hi! Im working on a mastering room and have some questions. I have calculated my room modes with John Sayers calculator. (great site, John!) What do i do with them now? I know the basics of what I need but how do you calculate what to build and where to put it? I would like for things to not be permanent if possible. The diy tube traps are interesting but I am not stuck on any one thing.

I had an idea of something to do...You all tell me if it would help me figure out my room. Take a low frequency sweep (35-500hz) and play it through my speakers in my untreated room. Capture that with an omni microphone and overlay that with the "perfect" sweep. By doing many of these and then overlaying them you could see where the boosts and cuts are in the frequency response. What do you all think? Some work is involved but the results could be fairly accurate in figureing out what you need. I would only do the low-lowmid sweep because high freq's are a little easier to treat.

Thanks
Scott
