Hi:
I'm attaching 2 images that I drew up in Paint. The "Room view 1" image is my current setup, and the Second one is the proped setup.
Here's the problem:
My mixes sound decent when I play them in the room, but when I fire them up on a boombox or in the car, they're all bottom end and boomy.
The "console" referred to in the diagram is the Omnirax ProStation Jr, which I have placed approx 12 inches from the back wall. I'm thinking that there are some reflections back from said wall, which is untreated save for a cotton wall hanging. The monitors are Tannoy PBM 6.5's with a bass port in the rear.
My room is untreated acoustically, but there are CD shelves and bookshelves in various places as diffusers.
Is my propsed setup (view 2) an improvement? The monitors in this case would be about 3 to 4 feet from the wall, which I could treat if necessary.
Let me know what you all think.
Thanks,
Tony
