Hey Guys Just new to this Forum

Looking to suck up as much advice about recording at home on my cheap budget...

I currently sing and play a little guitar(not the best guitarist) but I enjoy it

Recently had some radio Airtime on a BIG scottish Radio Station...

And about to start gigging soon

If you guys could check out my channel on youtube : Scottishsann

or punch Dean Chalmers into youtube.

You will see that my recordings and voice have improved since I started way back... But im still looking to get them ALOT better ! Any tips, advice is welcomed !

Hey Dean and welcome, I'm new here too, looks like our American pals are in bed!
Had a look at your vids - good work!
Are you still digging yourself out of the snow?

Hi from Utah guys. I'm up kinda early/late depending on how you look at it. I work nights, love that BTW. No management around, it's great. Welcome to the forum, and enjoy. Tons of great info here, great guys, some have a weird sense of humor, but you'll get in the swing in no time.

We don't like yer kind in here!

Just kidding...welcome. I'm a bit of a noob too at all of this, but there is someone on this forum with an answer to every question you could possibly come up with.

You must be an improvement over our other resident scottish guys. Those guys are a bunch of flaming mincers. :D :p

I'm half scottish by marriage (my parents', not mine), but that doesn't count.

Welcome to the board! :D

welcome aboard Dean...what part of the finger of fife you hail from?

Im from auld reekie originally myself but I know quite a few fifers...even some nice ones ;)

We're full up on Scots at the moment, but we'll give you a ring if a vacancy opens up. :D

Just kidding! Welcome. :)

Great to have you here. I visited Scotland a couple of years ago- I am a MacGregor and Hunter on my mum's side, and went to learn about my ancestry. Found out about all kinds of outrageous things the MacGregors did- no wonder the king outlawed the name!

Lifted more than few pints while there, too, and although I got to set up one of my favorite jokes, I never got to deliver the punch line. It goes like this:

Q. How are American beer and sex in a canoe alike?
A. They are both fuckin' close to water!

Every time I set it up, someone else delivered the punch line! Seems EVERYBODY in Scotland knows and loves that joke!

You've obviously never tried The Devastator, made right here in Utah.

Oh, I can relate- Abita's AndyGator would rip a new mouth in your face if you drank it too fast...

I went drinking in Moab... funny rules about having too many beers on the table. Lots of micro-breweries but all a but tree huggy for me... no guinness!!

NO GUINNESS? ~ ~ ~ They hide it from the tourist.

Welcome aboard.
Done part of my training in Comrie Francis & Fordell.
You are from Fife, right?
Pardon the spelling if I got it wrong.

I listened to your 'You Raise Me Up' video on Youtube and I think it sounds excellent.
You have lovely tone in your voice, your Intonation is almost pitch-perfect and this on 'less than optimal recording conditions'.
So just keep on doing this, keep plugging away and most of all have fun.
