Is there anyone out there in cyber land that can talk to me about how good or how bad a Roland xp-10 is? I mean on ease of use and sounds I know that Roland as a whole has nice piano sounds among others. I am interested in buying a better keyboard than what I have, and I have been looking on ebay and I came across a what seems like a good deal on a Roland xp-10 so if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.

The XP10 is crap. It has nothing in common with the rest of the XP series. It has a cheap keybed and a Sound Canvas sound engine inside. Look for a XP30 instead.

I definitely second brzilian's post...

The XP-10 is a pretty low-end synthesizer. You won't find those nice piano sounds, or really many nice ones on the XP-10. An XP-30 would be a good choice (I owned one), but I'm not sure what you're looking to spend. I see that the XP-10's are around $100+ on eBay right now, definitely not too expensive, but there are better options.

thanks

I thank you for your help in answering my questions about the Roland xp-10 I have actually decided on the Yamaha s03, I really like the way it sounds and it is only around $500.00 and it comes with a free stand and gig bag for it all for $496.00 I believe.

Not a bad choice with the Yamaha S03. I have an XP-10. It's the keyboard I started making stuff with when I was learning. I don't use any of the sounds on it (yes the sounds do suck). Now that I use Reason, for the most part, it's just a midi controller now. I guess now you can get one for the same price that a midi controller would cost new (actually a little cheaper).

Yep, the S03 isn't a bad choice. I own a S80 and have been pretty happy with Yamama synths.
