After much deliberation and assurance from roland and plextor I have purchased a plextor 40/12/40S cdr/w. I have also purchased a scsi 50 pin /25 pin lead to connect them up but to my dismay the roland does not recognise cdr/w drive. As the manual says I have turned the cdr on first then the roland. I am absolutely cheesed off now all I want to do is to record my tracks. Please help.

For the most part the 12/4/32s and the 12/10/32s external plextors have been the ones that have worked with the vs recorders. However, seems I've heard that the one you have also works.

I would suggest doing a search on the vsplanet forum on plextor and 40/12/40s, etc. and see what info you get.

Also, I assume that your 1880 has one of the later/latest os updates and that the cdrw SCSI id and terminaton is correctly set up - that's all I can think of ....

Thanks for your time I will check it out. Cheers Herbie
