roland td6v vs cubase

Hi All,

after a day of youtubing, googling and pulling my hair out of all kind of parts of my body I thought I'd give it a go here.
i love Cubase and i although i kno 5% of it's capability , i can record whatever i want and i learn as i go.

now i have a roland td6v which i normally use just for drumming and use cubase/ez drummer to make drum patterns.
now i have seen that you can use the roland td6dv as a midi out, so whatever i play there will become midi notes in cubase/ez drummer.

So t hat's what i want. I want to drum on my td6, hear ez drummer and record my drums midi notes.
however ...i can't get teh freaking to work...

i bought a midi/usb cable.
and it shows as MIDI USB in my device screen....and it says it works properly.
now i have seen a a vid that you have to setup a vst and connect it ez drummer en midi in and so on...
but my poblem starts with the roland..... how hard i hit, whatever setup i make...there's just no midi coming out of that thing
the midi in light is flashing every second.
i have set it to use GM
device id 10 (also in cubase, and use all midi)...but there's nothing coming out of that freaking thing
there's a ton of youtube movies....which shows it works....but i cant get it to work

please please please if someone can help or give me a hint that would be greatly appreciated...

Did you enable the td6v in Cubase? Devices>Device Setup...>click the '+' sign at the top left corner of window. See your unit there?

that's the usb midi right? i do see that one.
however when i check my device setup , midi out is set active, where midi in is inactive....which is probalby a part or the problem
i am not able to make it active my i read that this needs to be done within the VST instrument setup?
but as i dont know how the freaking td6 needs to be set.. .i have no clue if it actually sends something...

but ofcourse cubase needsto be seto correct as well.
so if i'm correct

f11, make a vst insturment, ezdrummer
let cubase make a midi track out of this
but than hell starts
in = usb midi
out = ez drummer
id =10

but in the VST instrument i somehow need to set the midi in as active as well...

fixed it!!

i got to work...under prefences i unchecked the midi thru part...which i shouldnt have
done it based on yotubue video explaining how to setup your external ekit...... forgot all about this etting...
but yahooo i have no complete musical freedom!
