The TD8 started the Direct Out trend by offering your Main outputs along with two Direct Outs.
Within the menus, you could assign each trigger to any of the 4 outputs.
I used to run Kick out of one direct, snare out of the other, and then create a digital overhead scenario by running the rest of the triggers out of the stereo outs.
I also used to own both an expanded TD10 that ran a Hart 6.4 kit and aTD8 that handled Hart multipad duties... Side by side, I preferred the sounds of the TD8 over the TD10. Just seemed 'richer' somehow...
