Hello everyone im new to the forums and not exactly sure where to post my question so forgive me for that.
anyway my band is trying to record a demo using electric drums to trigger sounds samples from dfh thru a M audio fast track box. We are all very satisfied with quality of the drums samples but we ran into a problem (infact common?).
Long ago we recorded a track or two on a laptop(nothing fancy, in terms of specs) and it turned out pretty good, besides the fact of some lag and minor issues.
Recently we tried to complete another track or two on a desktop PC(figured if its faster than the laptop would only benefit us)
After recording some of the midi into Reaper triggered by the Roland V drums,
we noticed that some of the drum fills and particular drum parts didnt sound
nothing like they were played. Almost like skipping notes and triggering faulty ones... It is really annoying as he took couple takes and it would randomly skip an note or two in a drum fill which made it very frustrating.
Do any of you guys have any idea why this happens, how come some of the notes are not being picked up?
In fact, slow computer? bad soundcard?
We play metal so the drums are quite fast but its just annoying when it doesnt pick up certain parts...
any suggestions?
thanks
