Absolutely! Yes Ive got a couple threads which have before and after samples since Im struggling with getting decent tone without doing a complete rework with digital effects. search mmp-2 The thing is amazing IMHO And Im just getting started with it. As a preamp its very clean to my ears. You can output digital as well. theres lots of adjustments which can make every mic I tried Much better. It has some nice little unmentioned features like the proximity and distance dials in the software which work great, almost like dialing in the tone you want. Also has eq, compression, enhancer and a de eSSer. I read an article in Recording magazine last month and decided to try one out from Americanmusical.com got a b stock which is actually new for $339.
However I did have trouble getting the digital out into my audiophile 2496 card and I am forced to input it into my audigy. all in all I would spend even more $ on it now that I see what it does. I dont think Ill be buying ANYmore mics anytime soon.
let me know if you get one and we can share the knowledge, this is a powerful little unit but theres not much support from roland that I can see.
