MC 500

I've just bought a mc-500 and i'm having problems recording to it. I've tried reading the roland manual but i think everyone knows how roland manuals are. Basically my problems is when i wanna record a basic drum loop.

how do i

a) record a drum loop one note at a time....kick snare hi-hat

b) record it in real time

can anyone help

thanks alot

I don't have the MC-505 GrooveBox, but I do have the JX-305 GrooveSynth, which is basically the same unit with keys and no D-beam. So I'll try to help, but it may be slightly different.

Both of these types of recording modes can be selected from the Sequencer menu (not sure where it is in the 505) but there are shortcuts as well.

To record one note at a time select Step Record, or you can just press the recording button twice. If real time recording is what you're looking for, choose Real Time, or just press the recording button and then the play button, there will be a 1 or 2 bar count in depending on what is selected in the menu.

Hope this helps.

BTW, you said MC-505, but then MC-500 in the text. I'm assuming you're talking about the MC-505 GrooveBox not the MC-500 Sequencer right? LOL @ Roland Manuals.
