The 2080 might be too close in price to the XV3080....and I would rather own the 3080. It has 128 voices and 64MB wave memory. I don't own any of these boards but I like the sounds. The 1080 is a pretty good deal now, it holds four expansion boards, has 6 outputs.
One stop shopping, get the 5080, 4 expansion boards, 4 of the new big expansion boards and up to 128 mg of sample ram. If only I were rich... but the 1080 is a steal right now!!
The VX-3080 is only $1199. at http://www.8thstreet.com That's a better deal than the 1080. You get way more voices, better A/D converters, plus way more memory-64 MB. I have an old Korg 01/W and it came with 6 MB and 32 voices and I still have just scratched the surface of what it's capable of.
