DRUM MACHINES CAN DO ANYTHING A DRUMMER CAN DO.BUT THEY KEEP BETTER TIME THAN (MOST DRUMMERS)ON SOME MACHINES YOU CAN EQ AND ADD EFECTS TO EACH DRUM ,THEY HAVE SEPERATE OUTPUT CHANNELS. SOME MACHINES ONLY HAVE L-R OUTPUTS. IT DEPENDS ON HOW MANY TRACKS YOUR MULTI-TRAK HAS. WITH A 4TRK YOUR QUIT LIMITED
EVEN MORE LIMITED IF YOUR USING ANALOG CASSETTE MULIT TRAK. I USE A BOSS DR-5 DRUM MACHINE AND RHYTHM COMPOSER IT HAS SOME EQ ON THE DRUMS PITCH AND VOLUME THATS IT. BUT THE DRUMS SOUND SO GOOD THEY DONT NEED MUCH EQ.IT ALSO HAS BASS PIANO HORNS STRINGS AND MUCH MORE. ITS A BAND IN A BOX AND I LOVE IT.

Yeah, that's the truth! The $400 I dropped on my DR-5 is the best money I ever spent! You can sequence entire songs and arrangements on it. You can trigger it by keypad, midi keyboard or your guitar. Run it through your stereo and it sounds VERY realistic. You can adjust the decay and sizzle of the cymbals, you can move the stereo pan position of instruments, you can transpose etc etc. Any synth that has a convincing B-3 sound is alright in my book! I can't say enough good things about the DR-5.

TRY THE DR.660 OR 770, THEY ARE THE BEST ROLOAND (BOSS) MACHINES IN MY OPINION. RUNNING THEM THROUGH A TUBE SWEETENER MAKES THEM SOUND EXTREMELY REAL. <BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Originally posted by POLease:

Drum machines like anything else are going to give you what you invest. The DR-5 is sweet indeed. You have the option of basically recording or storing tapped in tracks for drums, bass, piano and even guitar. All of them offer a haep of preset rhythm patterns and drum lines to record with or just practice with. A top rate tool for the home recording dude with limited space and time. Some (like the dr-5) let you run a guitar in and have a tuner, most are midi... name what you want one to do and we can pick one off the shelf for you.
