Rode S1 any use as acoustic guitar mic?

Hi guys,

This board is great!

I'm thinking of getting a Rode S1 mic for live vocal duties.

Was just wondering if it would be any good doubling as a second mic for stereo recording acoustic guitar (in combination with either a Rode NT1000 or a Marshall V67)?

This is the first I've heard of this mic. I googled it and couldn't find any reviews. I really like RODE mics, at least the two I have.

There is no s1, but I still like it on acoustic

I think it's a pretty new mic.

Geoff Woods, on rec.audio.pro, had this to say about it:

"For a good vocal mic that you can use equally in the studio as live, along
with the AKG C535, the new RODE S1 which I found pretty amazing, especially considering it's price.

I tried the S1 against an SM58, C900, C5900, D3800M, and it had similar
response to the codenser AKGs, but 'smoother' Also markedly less pronounced
proximity effect, handling noise, and popability that all the other mics.

I would like to run it against a KSM-105 but don't have access."

Would be great to know if it was a handy instrument mic as well...

sounds like this mic is too new for much word to have gotten out about it.
