Hello, I cant choose what Matched pair mics are better? (For acoustic guitar)
DO you guys Ever Experianced with both? or wanna share some details? that could help..

And for another thing..
Cant choose between 2 interfaces:
Focusrite 18i8 OR the Steinberg ur44?
IM so cunfused..
been thinking about it for a long time.. hope u could help :D
Thanks.

No contest for me.
I would go with the Oktava . :thumbs up:

Thank You so much!
Have u used both?
iM afraid to buy something i will regret...
IM 15 years old So i dont think i could buy more than 2 mics and an Interface..
I heard there's a lot of cheap Chinease models of Oktava mics... where can i get an orginal microphone? thnaks so much!

No question........the Oktava's are still hard to beat. As for fakes.......there's a TON of them so be VERY careful. I'd ask my local GC first.

Thank You So much!
About the fakes...
Can i Buy the mics from Thomann website?
When i looked the mics on youtube, sometime its an amazing audio quality and sometimes crappy..could be the fake once?
thanks again! :D

I'm not sure about Thomann. I do know that Oktava has a web site and I think you can get purchase locations there. As for what you hear on YouTube........everything you hear there is subject to the conditions / equipment / environment involved during the recording. A great mic can sound terrible and vice versa. So.........stick to a forum like ours here where there's some common sense and a good deal of experience.

Thank You Mickster!
I think ill buy the mics from Oktava's site altho it coast a lot more...
What about the audio interfaces?
Can you help me choose one? :D
Thanks you!

Try This link as a start.
I just posted this to allow new people to look at everything commercially available in one place. Only thing I didn't include was pricing. They run from $99 to $4000, so you'll have to see where you fit by hitting a few you like and looking them up (Google).

Thank you for doing that.
Ill tell u what i need, i need a least 3 xlr with preamps on the interface and few lines
What do u think is better?
The focusrite 18i8 or the steinberg ur44?
thanks u guys so much!

If I were running a Mac with the even remote possibility that I'd be working with my iPad, my money (and a good load of it) would go for the Apogee Quad with 4 killer preamps, but reality would kick in when I saw the $1400 price tag.
But between your choices, I'd go with the Steinberg for two reasons. If you only need 3 pres and a few lines 6 in 4 our (with 6 choices) and two headphone channels beats 8 in 2 out with 1, and the 18i8 is $350 and the UR44, only $299 (on sale at zZounds right now for $277).

Thank You for the answer, but my question between them is not the money or the num of input and outputs.
What INterface gives the best sound?
a-d and d-a
the quality of the preamps?
thats all i want to know.
Thanks you so much Guys Your the best. :D

I have a pair of the fake Chinese Octavia microphones and the don't sound that bad.
Not as good as the real ones but not bad.

Not sure what you budget is. That would eliminate a number of models. I can say that if you're going to be working with a pair of Oktava MK-012's I'd do my best not to skimp on the AI. The Oktava's will perform well with any AI..........but like any good mic.......the better the pre-amps the better the result..........to a point.

Honestly, to answer that question someone would literally have to have used both side by side in an exact environment with a set of measurement criteria that most home recordists just don't have available. We can look at specifications, but they don't tell our ears a thing.
ASK Audio's #1 pick for entry level interfaces last year was the AKAI EIE Pro (which meets your criterea) and was #5 on Music Radar's list.
The UR22 hit both lists as well, (which is built with the same preamps and ad/da as the 44, and the 44 was reviewed HERE.
To get a good feel of what you'd expect from either of the units you've asked about, I would get side-by-side reviews from the same place.
So possibly compare This review with This one. from Music Radar which shows strengths and weaknesses of the two units in question (also 4 star vs 5 which agrees with my perception).
Also THIS vs THIS from Sounds Live.

Hope this helps! :D

And again, I'll refer you to the Apogee Quartet @ 1400, but whose preamps are beyond reproach and their AD/DA is top notch as well. This is a no compromise unit, but budget might be a problem.
You might also check out MOTU's 4pre which runs in the $500 park, but has their excellent preamps. This unit is controllable from your iPad so you don't have to keep going back and forth to the computer to make changes. (nice feature) I believe the UR44 does the same.
Both of these are pretty Mac oriented, and for some reason, I thought you were dealing with Mac, but it isn't stated anywhere, so maybe that was another post.

Thanks You.. but im already out of my budget....
So Apogee is not even in my mind...
(im Using Windows 7) :thumbs up:
have ant audio interfaces suggestions? MY budget is around $400 or less...
If you Compare the specifications Between those two (Focusrite 18i8 and the Steinberg ur44)
Who wins?
who has better preamps?
less noise sound...
and DA AD
This is my Question...(ofc IF u have better SUggestions i'd love hearing them :D)
Thank you so much guys (Altho im so confused haha) :D

Don't know why you'd be confused. If you read the reviews in post #15, you should have no more questions. Reviews seem to prefer the UR44.
Neither has better or worse preamps than the other. Both are Class A preamps. They are comparable.
The UR44 lists a 112dB S/N ration, vs 108dB for 18i8. Negligible.
DA/AD Conversion 108/109dB on the 18i8, but I can't find a tech review of the UR44 (it just started shipping in January)
Can't help any more than that.
But I will say, all things considered, the UR44 seems like your best choice. And with the $$$ you save, you could get a decent set of closed back cans to monitor while you sing :D

People was telling me that The Steinberg UR44 has noise problem when turning up the gain..
Thats what scares me..
Any experience with this Interface guys?
thanks!

Its Weird that steinberg dont give much Information about their interfaces..
What interface can handle better Higher DB?
(betwwen Those two)
IM buying tommrow.
Hope i will decide till than
thanks!
