Hello all,

I'm now have the Rode NT3 and use it mostly for vocal and acoustic guitar ..

I recently started to work with a female very high voice singer ans I do feel the need for a better mic .

Does the NT1A is really all round amic ??

How well does it preform on an acoustic guitar ??

I'm asking because I'm thinking about replacing my NT3 for the NT1A ..

What do you think ??

I believe the NT-3 is a small diaphram condenser, while the NT-1 and -1a are large diaphram consdensers.

I don't have any of the mics in question, but generally an smd will respond more quickly to transients, and is often used on stringed instruments and percussion (overheads), while the ldc is a bit slower to respond but can sound more pleasing on vocals.
