Hey guys this is an update of the song I posted the week before last. I didn't rehash the thread because I wanted to get some fresh opinions. I ultimately ended up doing some drum edits. I normally wouldn't go that route but the drums were just to inconsistent for me to completely tame with compression and retracking was out of the question. Its still not as good as I would like but I think its a definite improvement.

This is a friends band that I recorded, I didn't play or perform on this

Just realized that I didn't have the right mix posted. I guess it doesn't matter since no one has posted anyways. The "correct" updated file is now up at the same link. Thanks

I honestly cant remember your last mix exactly except for the scream at 3:31(by the way it sounds great on this computer). the drums do seem to pop out better, especially on the tom rolls, but that is going from memory.

On a side note, i really like your other two songs on there. It looks like you wrote those?? very cool.

The "burrying your dead" song would make Dave Mustain proud as would the Christmas jingle :) :) Man you should have auditioned for Megadeth. You have some very similar lead phrasing as well as your arrangement.

ROCK ON

Not sure about the guitar tones. Are they real guitars or POD type guitars? Boost the 5K on the kick drum and maybe kill some mids.
Good effort.

MetalJ thanks for taking the time to listen. I did write both the songs that you mention. Jingle Bells or metal jingle was a quick collab done between me and Analytical Man (I think is his username over here). I tossed together the guitars/bass and he provided the drums. We were trying to get a little 4 song E.P together for Christmas but for whatever reason it didn't happen.
The other song is from my current Progressive/melodic death metal project. Glad you enjoyed it. I've never really listened to much Megadeath but I know they have some great guitar stuff so ill take it as a compliment.

Ecktronic the guitars are real. Its a peavey 2x12 combo (can't remember the model) mic'd with an Sm57. Thanks for the listen.
