If you like Robben Ford's playing, get the Jing Chi Live CD. It's a sort of jam band featuring Robben with bass whiz Jimmy Haslip and drum monster Vinnie Colauita (with special guest keyboardist Otmaro Ruiz on all tracks and sax player Marc Russo guesting on one track). It was recorded last December at Yoshi's in Oakland, and I was lucky enough to be there in the audience during one of the nights they culled the CD tracks from. It might be the best pure guitar playing album from Robben yet, he's just in absolute top form, his sound is magnificent, and the band just kicks.

By the way, Robben's next CD under his own name, Keep On Running, is due out in a month or two.

You bastich! Robben Ford never comes to Texas. And I've been watching his web site for years waiting for him to do it. I'll be looking for that CD tomorrow.

Now we're talking....!

Not only is he one of the greatest guitarists/musicians around today, but he consistantly releases CD's, seems like every year - so you know he is just burning with ideas..
..... -unlike some of our other heros, ( EJ comes to mind) who produce a couple of CD's per decade, -nice when you can get it!

I'll be first in line for the new CD, - and thats another thing, no filler B-side fluff from our man Robben, - every tune and tone a gem - always!
