So I bought a Multiface today. I plugged it all up and installed the latest drivers.
Here's a couple issues...

1. When using n-Track to play or record... i get some crackles and pops... even when I turn up my Buffer Size. Sometimes I will get these weird loud blares during playback also.

2. There is a good amount of latency when it comes to playing computer games too. Maybe I shouldn't expect it to run games well... but unfortunately I am out of PCI slots and can only have one soundcard. Do I have to choose between recording and gaming?

I am running XP on a Dell 8400 3.6gHz, 1 gig RAM, 120 gig SATA hard drive. My DAW is n-Track.

anyone? i'm having trouble even finding a number for RME to call..

How many audio drivers have you installed before? I seem to recall an issue with the Multiface in Windows 2000 where I had to go back and take off the prior audio interface installs. I understand the same issue applies to XP as well.

Here's the link at the RME site: http://www.rme-audio.com/english/faq/10entrye.htm

Be very, very careful if you choose to try this at home. :)

The good news is that once you get the Multiface drivers installed it'll be the most stable audio interface you're likely to have experienced up until now.

BTW, please note that you could have one problem or more than one problem. And, this might not be a fix for what you are experiencing.
