RME HDSP Multiface or 9632

I have read but don't really understand what the difference is between the RME HDSP 9632 and the Multiface. I have bought a Presonus Digimax and have Alsesis RA 100 amp and monitor, and though about buying a Berhinger 4700 headphone amp. I want to bring this all together, but with all the different breakout cables and expansion cards and such available with the 9632, I don't know which unit to go with to bring all this together. Do i get more and not have to wory about expansion cards if I go with the Multiface? I think the 9632 has what I need, but someone mentioned having the breakout box of the multiface to prevent any noise??? I plan on running in to a computer i will build once I figure this part out, so if it was the Multiface I would use the PCI card. So how do you decide? Ahhhhgg!

I really don't see how a breakout box type (Multiface) would prevent noise as opposed to the 9632, the only difference is that the Multiface has the 8 analog i/o's (and the box of course :rolleyes: ). Considering what you have, the 9632 should suit your needs just fine. If you need more analog i/o's down the line just pick up an AEB extension. ;)

All the gear is pretty standard.You can use it with prety much everything.what digimax??

You never mentioned what are you planing to use it for.
Just 8 channel ins and headphone submixes??
what resolution?????96k?,48k?
 
I plan on recording my band with it, and micing the drummer with the 8 ins. It just seem like that once I started spending money on breakout cables or expansion cards, that I may as well just buy the Multiface.
