Hey Guys Recently purchased the RME Fireface and this is the first real song that I have recorded using it. It's a friends band. Can you All have a listen and tell me what is Wrong / Right with my Mixing....

Shakedown

Thanks :)

Sounds pretty good from here. Vocals are a small amount quiet.....just bring them up a tad. It's slightly hard to understand all the words.

Mix seems pretty good. Nice drums, and guitars...very good sounds there.

Nice start man....

What Dogman said!!!!! :D

The song is pretty cool. The tune is cool. The recording and mixing is pretty cool. Everything is at the right volume. The overall volume seemed a little lower. That's nothing raising the master won't fix. ;)

At 2:51 the crash cymbal sounds a little harsh. Everything else sounds just the way it should be.

Mixing wise, I'd say if the band was happy with this version you did really well. The sound of the band based on this mix is pretty cool. :)

very nice. natural.
i'd just bring the snare and kick upfront a bit. they tend to get lost during louder parts of the song. overheads could use a bit of air though. cymbals do sound a bit harsh.
i like the guitars. they're good as they are.
bass guitar is sticking out of the mix at some moments. would benefit from compression.
vocal needs to come to front. i can't understand the lyrics. there are ups and downs in volume that are just too big. compress more.

otherwise great.

Pretty catchy song you've got here. I like the open sound of the drums right off the bat. This is the first example I've heard of how RME gear sounds - I like it. Personally, I would lower the overheads a bit and bring up the kick and snare like some others said. That's just personal preference though, since I tend to bury the overheads a bit in my mixes. Overall, I give it nothing but positive feedback. Keep em comin'.

Mix - I found the vocals a tad harsh, could do with softening up a bit.

Song - Really good, reminded me of the goo goo dolls.
