I saw a few posts on this in the past few weeks -- www.rme-audio.com -- this is the system that you can use with a pci card or with a pcmcia card for your laptop. It also offers 2 different breakout boxes.
I ordered one. Prices and ship dates have been sketchy but I got mine for $895 including next day shipping. It is supposed to ship in 3rd week of July. Not a bad deal when you consider the price/features of the MOTU 828 (96k, midi, smaller size, faster transfers, good driver support, ability to upgrade, battery adapter for power cord free recording with a laptop).
